What is Gum Acacia?
Gum acacia, also known as acacia gum / arabic gum / E414 / Gond in India, is a natural gum made from the sap of acacia trees. The gum is harvested by making incisions into the bark of the tree and collecting the sap once it has hardened.
It's used extensively in the food industry as a stabilizer, thickening agent, and emulsifier. It's also used in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics due to its soothing properties. Additionally, it's edible, high in dietary fiber and has therapeutic benefits.
